Diabetes Care Center

Welcome to the Diabetes Care Center!

Diabetes requires daily attention to what and how much you eat, blood sugar monitoring, and physical exercise. When you keep your blood sugar within a safe range, you will feel better, have a good quality of life, and may prevent complications from diabetes. The Diabetes Care Center was established to help each diabetic patient live a healthier life.

Rebecca Knight, N.P and Kimberly Torres-Kebelbeck, R.N. are both Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) and will work closely with you and your physician to help you maintain a stable blood sugar. Initially, your physician will refer you to one of the CDEs for a one hour evaluation. This complete evaluation will review your blood sugar levels, your diet, your medication, blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

In addition to your evaluation, you will be invited to a special series of classes specifically designed to help you and your family manage your diabetes. This program is comprised of four classes, which are held periodically throughout the year. Listed below is a brief description of each class and the current class schedule. For more information, please call (562) 229-9452, Ext 1455.
